On the occasion of the official launch of the national avocado planting season, the Head of State once again demonstrated his unwavering support for agricultural transformation by honoring Green Gold Burundi, a leading local initiative promoting avocado farming and horticultural innovation.
During the visit, the President expressed deep appreciation for the well-organized avocado nursery managed by Green Gold Burundi. He took time to observe the grafting process used to produce the high-demand Hass avocado variety, noting the precision, care, and knowledge being applied by local technicians. This visit marked a strong sign of encouragement not only to Green Gold Burundi but also to thousands of farmers engaged in avocado production across the country.
The Head of State commended the vision of expanding avocado cultivation, highlighting its potential to boost economic growth, export revenues, environmental protection, and youth employment. He pledged full support to the initiative, calling it a model for sustainable agricultural development and an example of how innovation, organization, and commitment can unlock Burundi’s potential in the horticulture sector.
